Brigadoon In The Light

I gave a Brigadoon rose bush to my grandmother and it became the centerpiece of her rose garden, being always healthy and vibrant. Roses go dormant in December and get pruned down hard. So when I chose this image to brighten up the December page of my 2013 calendar, it was to present a remembrance of the rose in winter, something to brighten the darker days. I see fancy holiday lights amid the plunging depths of the rose petals, providing energy and optimism for the new year.
